Harnett County Sheriff Wayne Coats announced his endorsement of Maj. Aaron Meredith as the county’s next sheriff on Thursday September4th, 2025.
“I am endorsing and supporting my current major, Aaron Meredith to serve as your next sheriff of Harnett County,” Coats said. “I ask you to join me in supporting him during his campaign. Aaron has honorably served the citizens of this county for over 27 years at the sheriff’s office. I am confident in his ability to provide positive leadership and serve each of you admirably. Thank you and may God bless the citizens of this fine county.”
